WHAT IS TEMPERED GLASS?

What makes Duralex® glass so durable is the tempering process. It consists of sudden cooling by ventilation of cold air over the entire glass product which has previously been brought to a temperature of approximately 650°C. This treatment creates controlled stresses in the glass which improve most of its physical qualities: resistance to mechanical stress and thermal shock (sudden change in temperature). Duralex® glass is at least 2.5 times stronger than a non-tempered glass product. It resists thermal shock of at least 130°C. It is this same tempered glass that is used to make windshields which, in the event of an impact or accident, shatter into thousands of non-sharp pieces.

Standard EN 1183

Duralex® follows the European standard relating to thermal shock, one of the strictest standards, and even exceeds its requirements. Duralex® products are resistant to thermal shock of at least 130°C.

EXTREMELY DURABLE, EXTREMELY RESISTANT

Duralex® tempered glass is 2.5 times stronger than ordinary glass.

HYGIENE

Duralex® glass products are non-porous, thus preventing pathogenic bacteria from lodging on their surface and proliferating there. Duralex® glass does not absorb stains or odors. It resists corrosion and is easy to clean.

MICROWAVE, REFRIGERATOR AND DISHWASHER SAFE

Duralex® products are suitable for use in the microwave, refrigerator and dishwasher.

STACKABLE

Duralex® glasses and bowls are stackable for convenience and optimization of your storage space.

SECURITY

If, however, Duralex® tempered glass breaks in your hands, there is no risk of injury. It breaks into a multitude of non-sharp pieces, for your safety.

Recommendations for use:

• Do not use products in the oven
• Do not expose products to flames
• Do not subject the products to a sudden change in temperature of more than 130°C
• Do not use a damaged or chipped product (risk for the user)
• Avoid scratching the surface of products

Cleaning

• Wash before use.
• Let the dish soak in soapy water for 20 minutes.
• Do not use metal sponges, pads, powders or abrasive products.
