What to do for Saint Patrick's Day?

Today, Saint Patrick’s Day goes beyond the borders of Ireland. And cities around the world have adopted these festivities. Every March 17, the city of Chicago, for example, colors its river green in honor of Saint Patrick's Day.

France is not left out. In Paris, the Moulin Rouge and the Sacré-Cœur Basilica, in particular, adopted an emerald covering for Saint-Patrick's Day. And on the evening of March 17, the pubs are often packed.

Because the tradition of Saint Patrick's Day, beyond green clothes, three-leaf clovers and leprechaun hats, these little elves which are part of Irish folklore, is also to savor an authentic Irish beer.

And what better way to enhance these moments with friends than to serve your hoppy beverage in one of the legendary beer glasses of Duralex? Our favorite choices:United, with its round and comforting shapes. Or the timeless Le Picardie®, with its elegant beveled facets.

What to eat for Saint Patrick's Day?

You can also take advantage of Saint Patrick's Day to discover Irish gastronomy. Awaken your taste buds with a delicious Irish stew, the local stew, or a plate of fish and chips, another great classic of Irish cuisine.

To keep with the Saint Patrick's Day theme, you can serve these delicious dishes in our jungle green tableware. Lys plates Or the Le Gigone® salad bowl will highlight your kitchen and delight your guests.

And if you want to extend the festivities, you can also prepare an Irish coffee. To do this, mix 1.5 cl of cane sugar syrup, 2 cl of crème fraîche, 4 cl of coffee and 3 cl of bourbon or whiskey. Then serve it all in a green Versaille mug.

The big plus? This is because with Duralex, your glass falls but does not break. Our products are made of tempered glass, which allows them to be on average 3.5 times more resistant than conventional glass. Enough to last all your Saint Patrick's Eve parties, and more.

But that's not all. Our tableware is also mass-dyed. This means that instead of covering our glasses with a thin layer of spray paint, we add minerals (non-hazardous to health) directly into the glass when it is in a liquid state.

Result ? When glass solidifies, it captures minerals. Your dishes stay green. And its color retains all its brilliance. Even after years.

How to decorate your table for Saint Patrick's Day?

In addition to your green tableware, you can decorate your table for Saint Patrick's Day with moss spheres, as well as candlesticks. To go further, you can also scatter a few (fake) gold coins on your table.

A few plant touches, as well as an old horseshoe (to bring you luck) can also enhance your table decoration for Saint Patrick's Day. Place them sparingly on a white tablecloth.

By the way, did you know that originally, the color of Saint Patrick's Day was not green, but blue? It was only after the Irish Rebellion of 1798 that green emerged as the new official color.

The tradition of Saint Patrick's Day says that you must wear green on this day for luck to smile on you. And like at Duralex, we don't joke with legends, we offer you 30% discount on a selection of items from our famous green tableware.
